What are poppers?
Poppers are also known as:
AROMAS, liquid aromas,
nitrites (amyl nitrite, isopropyl nitrite, isopentyl nitrite, isoamyl nitrite, hexyl, )
and by brand names like Rush, Ram, Jungle Juice etc.
Poppers are a liquid made from chemicals from the alkyl nitrite family.
And why name POPPERS? The name comes from the days when they came in glass capsules that popped when broken open.
What are poppers used for?
Poppers are used mainly during sexual activities. They are taken before / during anal intercourse - both by straight people and homosexuals.
Poppers can make you feel horny, lower your inhibitions and make orgasms feel stronger.
Poppers are vasodilators, which means they widen blood vessels.
When inhaled, they cause a rapid dip in blood pressure that can result in an immediate but short-lived rush of euphoria and relaxation. These effects can last for a few minutes.
Poppers are often associated with sex for a couple of reasons:
1) they tend to cause lowered inhibitions and sexual arousal
2) they relax smooth muscles in the body — including those found in the anus and vagina — making anal and vaginal sex more pleasurable.
While poppers are often associated with gay men, people of all genders and sexualities have used them recreationally since the 1960s.
Keep in mind that some people use poppers simply for the head rush, not sexual activity.
